The Big Help Out is launching on the 8th May

The Big Help Out is launching on the 8th May. It is an initiative to celebrate the people who are already volunteering and encourage those who are interested in getting started to be able to, and make a difference in their communities.

We think local government has a huge part to play in supporting the Big Help Out and volunteering, whether that be advertising the day, celebrating your volunteers and sharing what opportunities are available to the people that live in your area.

So on the 24th April we are asking Local Government to publicly share their commitment and plans for the Big Help Out on their social media and comms channels. We have media platforms like BBC Local and Reach ready to spotlight these plans, and Tanni Grey-Thompson and Jackie Weaver on hand to celebrate and share local governments involvement. We hope that you are ready to be a part of the campaign.

To find out a bit more about how we can support you to get involved in the Big Help Out, please have a look at this short slide deck and watch our drop in Q&A session with local government here.
