Ethnography

Neighbourly Lab are experts in deep listening, helping to immerse us in communities and surface what matters to residents. We offer different ways of doing ethnography, either as a complete project, as part of mixed methods or training staff teams in doing it themselves:

• Listening squads → we train staff in doing ethnography, so they can better listen and understand the lives of your residents. We work together to ensure people from different teams get involved and senior leaders understand the insights.

• Innovation squads → combining deep listening and behavioural science to co-design ways to transform services and increase community connection and contentedness.

• Transformation squads → we work with policy teams and strategic partnership teams to better understand the communities in which they operate. We do this using ethnographic research and stakeholder workshops.
