Project Announcement: Evaluation Partner for the GLA’s Loved & Wanted programme

We’re absolutely delighted to be the Evaluation Partner for the Greater London Authority and the National Lottery Community Fund’s Loved and Wanted programme.

Over the next two years, we’ll be working alongside an incredible network of community spaces across London to explore how trusted local venues can help build stronger, more connected and more cohesive communities.

From faith halls and community hubs to cultural venues, libraries and grassroots neighbourhood spaces, these organisations are creating welcoming environments where Londoners from different backgrounds can meet, connect, build relationships, and participate more fully in community life.

At a time when many communities are experiencing increasing division, exclusion and pressure, these spaces play a vital role. They are places of trust, belonging and solidarity, helping people feel seen, valued, supported, and, ultimately, loved and wanted in their city.

At Neighbourly Lab, we’re especially excited to dig into the role that physical community spaces play in fostering social cohesion: from the activities and partnerships they create, to the everyday interactions, design choices, cultures and acts of welcome that help bring people together across lines of difference.

Through the evaluation process, we’ll be learning alongside this fantastic cohort of organisations, exploring what works to strengthen belonging, connection and participation – all whilst helping share insights across a growing London-wide network of welcoming community spaces.

A huge thank you to the Greater London Authority and The National Lottery Community Fund for the opportunity to support such important work.
